I am attending neurosurgeon with broad experience in spine surgery working in Hospital Universitario La Paz, Madrid, Spain, Europe for 12 years. My main subspecialty is the minimally invasive spine surgery and I am also focused in the new technology development in spine surgery.
I am a research Group Leader at Idipaz and CSIC and I am working in different roles across esteemed institutions and scientific societies in Europe and globally.
After graduating in Medicina y Cirugía Valencia University in 2005, I performed my Neurosurgery Residency at Hospital Universitario La Paz from 2006 to 2011, where I achieved Excellent Cum Laude distinction with my PhD in 2021.
I was Chair of Minimally Invasive Spine Unit in HVM Hospital and I currently work at Hospital Universitario La Paz and Viamed Santa Elena.
Presently I am serving as a Spanish Neuroofficer in AOSPINE and as a faculty in european educational programs like Swiss Young Neurosurgeons courses and EUROSPINE Eduweek and Spring Summit.
I have a long trajectory in European Association of Neurosurgical Societies. I was serving as a Scientific Committee of Spinal Advanced course for the European Spine Diploma. Currently I am part of the panel of Spine Secton and faculty of Spinal Advanced course. I am member of the faculty team at Tumor and Spine Training Courses. My first role as a Office holder was serving as EANS Young Neurosurgeons Committee Chair and currently I am member of the EANS Board with the role of EANS Individual Membership Chair.
I am member of Global Committee at AANS working on a global access to education and training.
I am leader of global simulation courses at WFNS as well.
I remain a stalwart advocate for education as a professor at Camilo José Cela and La Salle Universities and in preparation programs for MIR and MIUR studies, mirroring my commitment to emerging talent.
My research as Group Leader encapsulates diverse areas, encompassing spine, oncology, TBI and neuropathic pain.
In recognition of my contributions I earned a constellation of accolades and grants like the accolade of being named a Top Women Leader in 2021. I was on the list of the best 100 doctors in Spain at FORBES LIST 2023 as the most emblematic one.
Grants from entities like Luis Alvarez Idipaz, Fondo de Investigaciones Sanitarias (FIS) from Spanish Ministry of Health, European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) from Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and European Commission (HORIZON2022) underscore the weight of my research.
My intellectual legacy flourishes through scholarly publications in prestigious journals and books, underscoring my unwavering commitment to advancing neurosurgery and illuminating the frontiers of research. I am happily involved in different projects in the development of new technologies and products to improve training, surgeries and peoples lives. I like to think that my knowledge and experience make me a strong partner in helping others to reach their full potential. In a nutshell I am committed to improve the patients life, the global education and to help the next generation.
