Dr. Charles P. Couturier, MD, PhD, FRCSC is a Neurosurgery Fellow in image-guided surgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital as well as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Dr. Couturier completed residency and PhD at McGill University where he used single-cell RNA-seq to study cancer heterogeneity in glioblastoma. As a neurosurgeon scientist, Dr. Couturier leverages his clinical insights in his research, focusing on the glioblastoma micro-environment using advanced single-cell and spatial -omics technologies. He is dedicated to understanding how cancer and microenvironment cells, like myeloid cells, alter their function and nature in response to their local environments and genetic makeup. Dr. Couturier's goal is to develop new therapies that can control these cells and their microenvironments, particularly to reduce immunosuppression and potentiate immunotherapy.
