Dr. Ranjan is a functional neurosurgeon and an assistant professor of neurosurgery. Dr. Ranjan has received clinical and research training in functional neurosurgery at the University of British Columbia, the University of Toronto, and WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. He specializes in neuromodulation and with expertise in DBS, focused ultrasound, and neuromodulation for pain and spasticity. He has a special interest in translational neuroscience and focused ultrasound. He was involved with some of the first and novel clinical trials in the field of transcranial MR-guided focused ultrasound. He is experienced in both high-intensity ablative focused ultrasound and low-intensity focused ultrasound with blood-brain barrier opening as well as neuromodulation with focused ultrasound.
