Endovascualr and Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery Fellow
Massachusetts General Hosapital

Dr. Omer Doron MD, PhD, Israeli Board Certified Neurosurgeon, currently a Cereberovascular Neurosurgery Fellow Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell, NYC, NY, USA and Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellow (Prospective) Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, USA.
I am an acadmic neurosurgeon , and completed my residency in Jeruslaem, Israel in the department of neurosurgery in Hadassah University Medical Center. Currently, I’m a cerebrovascular neurosurgery fellow in Lenox hill Hospital/ Northwelll, in New York, USA , focusing on advanced complex cerebrovascular procedures, training under the supervision of Dr. David Langer.
After this period I am starting a two-year fellowship period in endovascular neurosurgery, under the supervision of Dr. Aman Patel , in Massachusetts General Hospital , Boston , USA, in order to be a complete dual-trained endovascular and open vascular neurosurgical training.
I hold a Ph.D degree in biomedical engineering, from Tel Aviv university faculty of Engineering. My research was focused on developing a brain perfusion augmentation device and monitoring methods, revolving around ICP modulation, studying intracranial dynamics, specifically pressure, flow and compliance of the brain in different pathophysiological processes. This practical and theoretical work has led several grants and patents.
I am also the chief medical officer and the co-founder of SynCath Neuroscience, a pre-clinical stage company I have founded together with my academic mentor Prof. Ofer Barnea from Biomedical Engineering Faculty in Tel Aviv University, in Tel Aviv, Israel.
My goal is to complete my training successfully while ultimately developing catheter-based techniques from the world of neurointerventions and create tools to improve brain perfusion in an acute brain injury set-up.
