EDUCATION:
Mr. Ghimire is a senior registrar in Neurosurgery at King's College Hospital and PhD scholar in Cancer Neuroimaging,Radiogenomics and AI at the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Studies, King's College London. He graduated from Kings College London with distinction in Clinical Neuroscience MSc in 2016. He completed MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK in 2014. He studied Medicine(MBBS) at Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal affiliated to Kathmandu University. He has completed written examination (Part 1) of FRCS (surgical Neurology).
PROFESSION AND EXPERIENCE:
He is the Review Editor for Frontiers in Surgery (Neurosurgery) & Journal of Brain and Spine Foundation Nepal. He is a reviewer for Brain Structure & Function, Cureus, Journal of Neuro-oncology(JNO), Surgical Neurology International(SNI), BMJ case reports and British Journal of Neurosurgery.
HONORS AND AWARDS
He was awarded a distinction in MSc Clinical Neuroscience from King's College London in 2016. He also received Vice-Chancellor Gold Medal (MBBS) from Kathmandu University, Nepal in 2011 and the TM Pai Gold Medal from Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal. He received The NHS Leadership Academy Award in Healthcare Leadership Foundations on completing the Edward Jenner Programme (2021). He has received "The Elsevier Best Research Paper Award 2021" by the World Congress of Neurology for his work in Motor Homunculus.
LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT
He is a member of The Q Community of the Health Foundation, UK. He has worked as Lead Registrar in the Neurosurgery Department of King's College Hospital, London supervising 13 Registrars/Clinical Fellows in the department. He has also worked as Education/Teaching Lead Registrar running the day-to-day teaching and education for the department's neurosurgical trainees and clinical fellows. He is a faculty of the International Neurosurgery Student Conference at King's College London. He has recently completed the Edward Jenner Programme (NHS X) and the Talent Management Programme from NHS Leadership Academy. He is the current treasurer and Trustee of Charity, Nepalese Doctors Association UK (NDA-UK).
PUBLICATIONS
He is an author of the published book "Neurosurgery: Case-Based Approach (Springer)" in 2018 with further publications of more than 30 research articles in National and International Peer-Reviewed Journals. He is the co-author of the Book "General Surgery A Quick Review" (Asmita Publication, Nepal) published in 2015.
