Dr. Kuan-Hung Chen is a fourth-year neurosurgical resident at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. His primary focus lies in researching cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) dynamics and intracranial/spinal vascular anomalies. His recent publication, accepted in Acta Neurochirurgica, delves into the correlation between the etiology of hydrocephalus and the revision rate of CSF diversion surgeries. Dr. Chen's findings reveal that post-traumatic hydrocephalus (PTH) accounts for 10-13% of hydrocephalus cases necessitating CSF diversion procedures in Taiwan. Currently, he is diligently gathering data from a 10-year cohort of traumatic brain injury patients to construct a predictive model for estimating the likelihood of PTH occurrence in this demographic.
