Emre Kiziltug is a 4th year medical student Yale School of Medicinevand incoming intern at University of Michigan. He grew up in Turkey and moved to the U.S. after graduating from high school. He attended Duke University where he received his B.S. degrees in Computer Sciences and Economics. Since starting medical school, he has been doing research under Dr. Kristopher Kahle. He studies the underlying genetic component behind neurosurgical diseases by analyzing single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing datasets and applying various integrative multi-omics methods to characterize disease pathophysiology. In the summer of 2021, he was awarded Neurosurgical Medical Student Summer Research Fellowship for his work at the Kahle lab.
