Dr. Doomi grew up in Sudan where he had his early education. He has been among the distinguished students in whole country and has attended the prestigous University of Khartoum where he graduated from medical school with distinction in Surgery and Pathology and completed a subsequent internship. He then joined Hamad Medical Corporation, an affliated training site for Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar "Joint Commission and ACGME-I accredited institution" in Qatar where he completed Neurosurgery residency and got his regional board certification in Neurosurgery. He further practiced neurosurgery at Hamad Medical Corporation to gain additional expertise and practice. He additionally, got more recognition getting certified by the European Board of Neurosurgery and the UK prestigious Royal Colleges board in Neurosurgery "FRCS-SN" in 2020. He then moved to the US and completed Skull base and MicroNeurosurgery lab fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College at NYC under the mentorship of Dr. Antonio Bernardo. Then, he completed a year of post doctoral research fellowship in the Spine Biomechanics lab, the Sonntag Spine Center at Barrow Neurological institute in Pheonix working with engineers in spine biomechanics testing projects under mentorship of Drs. Jay Turner and Juan Uribe. Subsequently, he completed a clinical CAST accredited fellowship in Functional Neurosurgery at the University of Miami under the mentorship of Dr. Jonathan Jagid. At present, he is completing a complex and minimally invasive spine CAST accredited combined Neurosurgery and Orthopedics spine fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas.
