Jay D. Turner, MD, PhD is an American Board of Neurological Surgery certified attending neurosurgeon and an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) in Phoenix, Arizona. He serves as the Director of the Barrow Clinical Outcomes Center, Co-Director of the Barrow Scoliosis and Spinal Deformity Center, and Clinical Director of the Barrow Spinal Biomechanics Research Laboratory. Dr. Turner specializes in complex spinal reconstruction surgery and treats the full spectrum of spinal disorders. He has particular interest and expertise in adult spinal deformity and is committed to improving patient outcomes through research and innovation. He is a member of the International Spine Study Group (ISSG)--a leading organization dedicated to advancing the field of adult spinal deformity. He is an active faculty member at the BNI, one of the largest neurosurgical training programs in the world, and has been recognized as a top educator. Dr. Turner serves as Co-Director of the BNI Complex Spine Fellowship Program. He is an active member of American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society, and the AANS/CNS Spine Section. He currently serves on the Executive Committee and is the Chair of the Publications Committee for the AANS/CNS Spine Section.
