Hasan is a 3rd year MD candidate at the Perelman School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, Hasan received degrees in Bioengineering and Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated summa cum laude. During his undergraduate, he conducted basic neuroscience research in optogenetics as well as translational neuromodulation research at UCSF under Dr. Edward Chang.
At Penn, Hasan has been interested in improving neurosurgical care quality, access, and outcomes by drawing on his previous experience in engineering and finance. He has conducted and published research in both spinal and cranial realms, and received both the Guggenheim Research Fellowship as well as the CNST Summer Research Fellowship for his work. He is looking forward to continuing to learn about and eventually apply into the field of neurosurgery.
