Dr. Francesco Marchi, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland, Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale. He graduated with honors at the University of Pisa and completed his neurosurgical training in Switzerland (CHUV in Lausanne and ORL in Lugano) and in the United Kingdom (Imperial College London and King's College London). He is currently spending a year as Senior Clinical Fellow in Neuro Oncology at the Neurosurgery Department at King’s College Hospital London. He has focused his training on oncological cranial neurosurgery, specifically on primary brain tumors. He has been involved in experimental research on brain neoplasms in vitro and in vivo and has served as an investigator and co-investigator in local (in collaboration with the Oncological Institute of Swiss Italian region, IOSI, and the Regional Pathology Institute), national, and international research projects (Swiss Glioma Network and Re-Surge International Study). He was awarded the EOC Young Researcher Grant in 2022 for a neuro-oncological project on liquid biopsies in brain tumors. Since 2017, he has been the coordinator of the Neuro-Oncology board at the Neuro-Oncological Center of Swiss Italian region and a member of the coordination committee and core team.
