Hanya Qureshi is a third-year medical student at the Yale School of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavior from Columbia University. She is also a Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy Fellow at Yale Law School. Hanya is the Co-Founder of Yale Global Health - Students United for Regional and Global Education (SURGE), which has brought together nearly 120 students of the health professional, business, and law from nearly 20 different countries and five different continents to discuss important global health topics and design innovative health solutions together as a global team. Hanya also serves as the Founder & Co-Developer of the UN Ivy STEM Connect Program, which aims to encourage increased participation in STEM subjects by high school girls from traditionally underrepresented regions internationally using a participatory peer-learning approach. She remains passionate about neurosurgery, global health, and public policy, working with mentors both locally and internationally on a variety of research projects.
