Hussain Alkhars, BS, is a distinguished fourth-year medical student at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Prior to his medical studies, he completed an honors degree in Philosophy and Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh, showcasing his diverse academic interests. His research is primarily focused on the endovascular treatment of cerebrovascular conditions under the guidance of Dr. Dimitri Sigounas. Currently, Hussain is a research fellow at Johns Hopkins University where he's working with Dr. Risheng Xu to study the outcomes and treatments of Trigeminal neuralgia to better understand the disease and improving patient care. Originally from Saudi Arabia, Hussain chose to pursue his education in the United States, drawn by the high-caliber training opportunities available for aspiring physician-scientists. His journey reflects a deep commitment to not only advancing his own career but also contributing to the broader medical community through research and clinical practice.
