Medical College of Wisconsin, US
Hope M. Reecher, BS, is a second-year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She received her Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience in 2021 from the University of Pittsburgh, where she began her research work in 2019 in the advanced ophthalmic imaging laboratory of Dr. Ethan A. Rossi. Prior to medical school, Hope began work under Dr. Taylor Abel at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, who helped guide her to discover a passion for the field of epilepsy surgery. She continues such research, now directed by Drs. Sean Lew and Jennifer Koop at Children’s Wisconsin. Her research interests continue to expand under the guidance of skull-base neurosurgeons, Drs. Nathan Zwagerman and Stephanie Cheok. Hope has authored numerous published manuscripts and abstracts and has been fortunate to present her work at international conferences. During her current medical school training, she leads several investigations in pediatric epilepsy and adult skull-base neurosurgery while serving as AANS Chapter President for the Medical College of Wisconsin and President of the Clinician Scientist Initiative. Hope aspires to pursue a neurosurgical residency and continue research as a substantial component of her professional career.
