Medical Student
University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, US
Taylor Niznik, BS, BA is a second year medical student at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, OK where she participates in research with the Neurosurgery Department. She graduated as a national merit scholar from the University of Oklahoma in 2020 with BS in Biomedical Engineering and and BA in Piano Performance. Before starting medical school, she worked for two years as a research coordinator in Dr. Amy Cohn's Tobacco Regulatory Science lab overseeing data collection and data quality for two R01 NIH grants. Her physician mentor prior to medical school was an Oklahoma City-based neurosurgeon which inspired her to seek early shadowing and research opportunities with OU neurosurgery faculty including Dr. Christopher Graffeo and Dr. Virendra Desai. In the upcoming years, she hopes to continue ongoing projects with mentors at OU and apply for neurosurgery residency.
