Medical Student
Feinberg School of Medicine
My name is Giancarlo Riccobono and I am currently a third-year medical student at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Of Venezuelan-Italian decent, I grew up on the outskirts of Miami, FL and speak three languages fluently: English, Spanish, and Italian. After high school, I pursued degrees in biomedical engineering and computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which is where my drive to combine medicine, engineering, and business was ignited. At Georgia Tech, I had the opportunity to work with world-class neurosurgeons at Mayo Clinic as well as four other biomedical engineering co-students to develop a patented vascular closure device for the common carotid artery at the completion of endovascular procedures. At Feinberg, I am pursuing the MD/MBA dual-degree in hopes of gaining a better understanding of the business of medicine and medical devices, which will further fuel my passion to innovate in the medtech space. On my free time, I enjoy watching sports (especially soccer and tennis), traveling, and eating good food.
