Marco Catani, MD, PhD Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, Paideia International Hospital Rome and Senior Scientist at NatBrainLab, IRCCS Synlab, SDN, Naples, Italy. Professor Catani is Section Editor (nervous system) of the 42 and 43 edition of the Gray's Anatomy and is one of the world's leading authorities on brain anatomy and language. He pioneered the use of diffusion tractography to identify new connections in the human brain. He has written more than 150 scientific papers and co-authored the Atlas of Human Brain connections (2012) and 'Brain Renaissance: from Vesalius to modern neuroscience' (2015). He is the head of the NatBrainLab (www.natbrainlab.com) He received several awards, including the Norman Geschwind Prize in Behavioural Neurology by the American Academy of Neurology (2012), the New Investigator Award by the Wellcome Trust (2014) and the biennial Award for Outstanding Book in the History of the Neurosciences (2016). His work has been featured in Nature, New Scientist, Scientific American Mind, British Medical Journal, CNN, World News BBC, and BBC radio 4.
