Medical Student
Wayne State University School of Medicine
Parker Fitzgerald is a current third year medical student at Wayne State University's School of Medicine. He is originally from Grand Ledge, Michigan and he acheived a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Alma College in 2021. He has been involved in the Harris Research Lab through Wayne State University's Integrative Biosciences Center since 2022. Through the lab he has been involved in research exploring the dynamics of cerebrospinal fluid and the cellular response to shunt placement in rodent models of hydrocephalus. He has also been active in Wayne State's First Aid First organization, which helps to teach members of the Detroit community lifesaving first aid skills such as hands only CPR. Parker is currently still exploring what field of medicine he would ultimately like to practice after medical school, but he is excited for his third year clerkships and the experiences he will gain throughout them.
