Dr. Nickalus R. Khan is a native Memphian who practices skull base neurosurgery, vascular neurosurgery, and spinal surgery.He attended the University of Memphis for undergraduate studies graduating Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, and a minor in Mathematics in 2009. He then attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center (UTHSC), graduating at the top of his class in 2013.
He then completed a 7-year residency in neurological surgery at the University of Tennessee & Semmes Murphey Clinic, graduating in June 2020. During this time, he completed an international rotation in open cerebrovascular and skull base surgery in Bristol, England. He also completed an enfolded endovascular fellowship during his final year of training under the mentorship of Dr. Adam S. Arthur and the cerebrovascular department at Semmes Murphey Clinic.
Following residency, Dr. Khan completed a post-graduate fellowship in open Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Surgery at the University of Miami under internationally renowned surgeon Dr. Jacques J. Morcos.
His clinical interests include microsurgical anatomy, skull base neurosurgery, vascular neurosurgery, spinal surgery, clinical research, and resident education.
He enjoys spending time with his wife (Mandy), children (Luke and Elizabeth) in his time away from work. Dr. Khan is proud to work in Memphis to serve and improve the lives of the patients of the community in which he grew up.
