Sandro Krieg currently serves as Managing Senior Consultant at Klinikum rechts der Isar and is Professor of Neurosurgery at TU Munich. After studies in Munich, Boston, London and San Diego, he finished his residency in Munich. During residency, he also acquired an MBA at HNU and UCLA School of Public Health and had a research leave at UCSF to deepen his focus on research on eloquent brain lesion.
Clinically, his subspecialties are surgical neurooncology, vascular neurosurgery and complex spine.
His current scientific focus is on brain mapping, awake surgery and neurophysiological technologies. He serves as associate Editor of Frontiers in Oncology (Neuro-Oncology and Neurosurgical Oncology) and is member of the editorial board of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery. As a reviewer, he supports more then 40 journal, including all major neurosurgical, neurophysiology, and neuroimaging journals.
Within the EANS he serves as Member of the EANS Young Neurosurgeons Committee, was an IM delegate from 2016-2020 and is currently heading the Academy Task Force putting up the new EANS teaching portal.
