Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
Eugene Ivan Hrabarchuk, Sc.B is a second year medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He was a graduate of the class of 2020 at Brown University majoring with Honors in Cognitive Neuroscience, with Magna Cum Laude Honors, and was inducted into the Sigma Xi scientific research honor society. He completed an Honors Thesis at Brown titled: “The Effects of Different Forms of Early Life Adversity on Neural Development and Reward Seeking Behavior”. He worked with his principal investigator, Dr. Kevin Bath, to study how mice respond behaviorally and biochemically to Early Life Adversity with limited bedding and nesting models. He currently works with Dr. Tanvir Choudhri, a neurosurgeon with spine specialization at Mount Sinai, studying clinical research on concussion, spine surgery outcomes, bibliometrics, among other topics. Eugene is a leader for the Global Surgery and Surgical Leadership (GSSL) Scholars Program at Mount Sinai to improve understanding of global surgical issues abroad. He is part of the THRIVE fellowship at Mount Sinai geared to create new surgical innovations and to better understand the product design process. Currently involved in many research projects, he hopes that these experiences will help him as a future physician in improving the outcomes, health and wellness of his patients.
