Dr. Shepard is a neurosurgeon with the Allegheny Health Network Neuroscience Institute and is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery with Drexel University School of Medicine. He specializes in the surgical removal of cancerous and benign tumors of the brain and spine as well Gamma Knife radiosurgery. Dr. Shepard earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his neuorsurgery residency at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia and his Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is an executive comitte member with the AANS and CNS Tumor Section and serves on the Joint Guidelines Review Comittee with the AANS/CNS. He also serves as the social media Editor for the Journal of Neuro-Oncology.
