Megan Bauman, M.S. is a medical student at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota and will receive her medical degree in 2025. Currently, she is pursuing a research year and serving as a research fellow in the Rhoton Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology Surgical Anatomy Program at Mayo Clinic, Rochester under the direction of Dr. Maria Peris Celda. Her research interests include skull base anatomy and neuroanatomical education, specifically the integration of 3D documentation into educational practices. Ms. Bauman has presented her research at numerous national neurosurgical conferences including AANS, CNS, and NASBS. As a first-year medical student, she was awarded the NREF Medical Student Summer Research Fellowship. Further, her research from this fellowship culminated in the 2021 NREF Medical Student Summer Research Fellowship Best Abstract Award, which afforded her the opportunity to present her research at the 2021 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting in Philadelphia. In addition, she is active within the Women in Neurosurgery (WINS) community and currently serves as Co-Chair of Events on the WINS Medical Student Committee.
