Dr. Paul Vespa is the Assistant Dean for Research in Critical Care, the Gary L. Brinderson Family Chair in Neurointensive Care and Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Vespa has clinical and research expertise in traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic epilepsy, and intracerebral hemorrhage, including work funded by the NIH, DOD, and State of California. He has focused his research on brain metabolism and electrophysiological abnormalities after brain injury. Dr. Vespa is Co-PI of a large NIH Funded observational trial in post-traumatic epilepsy entitled EpiBioS4Rx, and has been a Co-PI of the MISTIE/ICES study on minimally invasive endoscopic surgery for intracerebral hemorrhage.
