Mark C. Preul MD is Newsome Endowed Chair and Director of Neurosurgery Research and The Loyal and Edith Davis Neurosurgical Research Laboratory, Department of Neurosurgery, Barrow Neurological Institute, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix AZ, USA. Dr. Peul has spent the last 25 years at the Barrow Neurological Institute. He interned in general surgery at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 1988-89, and then was a resident and chief resident 1989-1995 in neurosurgery at the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University in Montreal Canada. From 1995-97 he was a Preston Robb Fellow in neurosurgery and neuroimaging at the Montreal Neurological Institute. From 1998-99 he was a fellow in pain surgery at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo and in 1999 he moved to assume his current role leading the world's most prolific and famous neurosurgical research laboratory at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix AZ.
