CEO
e14 AI
Scott Rickard has a notable and diverse career path in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. As the CEO of e14 AI Inc., Dr. Rickard focuses on deciphering brain signals using AI and machine learning technologies. This role follows his tenure as the Chief Data Scientist at Citadel, where he was instrumental in developing a central machine learning, AI, and data science team. Before Citadel, Scott held the position of CTO and SVP for Data Science at Salesforce.
Dr. Rickard's leadership experience includes serving as the CEO of Probability Dynamics, a hedge fund based in Dublin's International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). In academia, he was a professor in the School of Electronic, Electrical and Communications Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD). There, he also founded the UCD's Complex & Adaptive Systems Laboratory (CASL). Earlier in his career, Scott spent a decade with Siemens Corporate Research, applying machine learning to industrial research problems. Notably, he developed a source separation tool used by the FBI.
Scott holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also holds MA and PhD degrees in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Princeton University.
Dr. Rickard's research interests are broad and interdisciplinary, encompassing brain signal processing, computational and mathematical finance, sparse signal processing, and time-frequency/scale analysis. He has also contributed to the fields of blind source localization and separation, multiuser frequency-hop communication systems, and the development of Costas arrays. Additionally, Rickard has a unique interest in "ugly music" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RENk9PK06AQ).
